Meeting Minutes

Date : 06th August 2013

1.    Welcome everyone to the February Tamar Valley Canoe Club meeting. Please read through the following meeting minutes and feel free to ask any questions if an item is unclear.

2.    Meeting Attendance (Who present):

  • Claye Mace, Adam Rolls, John McMausland, Simon Barnes, Ben Phipps, Adam Dickenson,

John  Knox, Phil Barratt, Peter Sebbage, James Caspar, Gavin Bye, Dicko

3.    Apologies for non-attendance (Accept):

  • None

4.    Minutes of last meeting (Read & Confirmed by):

  • None

5.    Business arising from previous minutes (Report & Action):

  • Canoe Polo Aquatic Centre Report, Discussed in general business section

6.    Correspondence In (Who & Details):

  • George Town Basin Flinders Centre
    • Would we like to have a Kayak event during an event on the 5th of April
    • Claye thinks that we should attend and represent club.
    • John would like to see a sponsor be part of it if we were going to attend
    • John McMausland to reply.
  • Active Launceston 25th August
    • Running open day, would we like to run a table?
    • Declined

7.    Correspondence Out (Who & Details):

  • Reply to letter regarding Tamar Valley users group.
  • Reply to Canoe Tasmania in regards to by-laws done by John McMausland.

 

8.    Finance Report (Receive):

  • AGM completed Prior, please see minutes for AGM.

9.    General Business (Details, Motions put & 2nd’ed, Votes For & Against):

 

Bosun’s Annual Report: Presented by John Knox

Read and Confirmed by: Claye Mace and Simon Barnes

Please see attached documents for full report.

  • Confirmed by Simon Barnes and John McMausland. Deemed by all as an accurate report of club assets.
  • Flairs expired, members decided that there was no need to replace.
  • 1 more sea kayak pump required. Reason, lost
  • 1 more child sea Kayak Life jacket recommended to buy.
  • Consider purchase of a spot beacon by club. Declined but open for review in the future, pending on use of current equipment.
  • Disposal of old gear appropriately. Agreed to from all members present.

 

 

 

Ben Lomond Decent Report:

Presented by Claye Mace:

  • Thanks to all club members that helped out.
  • Weather was great and attendance was reasonably good
  • Did not get as much sponsorship as previous years but it still made a profit. $1200+ profit made.

 

North Esk Paddle festival is on 24th August

  • Full weekend of fun planned, looking to
  • If anyone can help trim the path down to the river. This Saturday, Adam to notify on paddle flash

10.  Trip Reports & Upcoming Trips (Who, Where, When):

  • Tineke, Ben Lomond Decent. Did it with dry feet. Great reception from all in attendance.

11.  Next meeting (Date & Venue): 1st Tuesday of the month, Cock’n’Bull
