Hydro Tasmania Cataract White Water Challenge Program

The program for Hydro Tasmania Cataract White Water Challenge this coming weekend (31st October & 1st November) is as follows;
Friday Evening
1pm – Hydro Tasmania will open the valve and will over an hour slowly increase the flow rate to 25cumecs.
4:30pm – The river will be at race high at First Basin/Slalom Rapid
6:30pm – The valve will be shut.
6:00 – 7:00pm – Registration + Collect race bib at Stillwater cafe – Ritchies Mill Launceston at Still Water car park.
Friday night is the chance to practice Slalom Rapid. We will have rescue setup along the Slalom Rapid. All other parts of the river are to be paddled at your own risk.
 
 
Saturday
6am – Hydro Tasmania will open the valve and will over an hour slowly increase the flow rate to 25cumecs
9:30am -The river will be at race high at First Basin/Slalom Rapid.
10:00am – Final Registration and collection of your race bib will be available at the finish line (Bottom of Slalom Rapid). This will be located on the walkway at the small lookout.
11:00am – Race briefing at the top of Slalom Rapid. Ensure that you have registered and collected your race bib.
11:30am – The first heat begins.
2:30pm – The last heat begins.
3:00pm – The finals begins.
3:30pm – the valve is turned off
4:30pm – presentations and post race coffee/drinks at Still Water car park.
The results will be updated live on www.tamar.paddle.org.au after each heat. Check the leaderboard and heat times after your race to find out your time.
