1.         Open Executive Meeting:

The meeting was opened at 8:00 pm.

 

2.         Attendance:

John McCausland, Simon Barnes, Jonathan Knox, Pete Sebbage

 

3.         Apologies:

Gavin Bye, Claye Mace (late)

 

4.         Minutes of last meeting:

The minutes of the previous meeting were not available and will be confirmed at the next meeting.

 

5.         Business arising from previous minutes:

 

  1. Sport & Rec grant application for canoe polo upgrade: completed and submitted by John McCausland.

 

6.         Correspondence In:

Dept. Economic Development, Tourism & Arts: request to send inventory update.  Pete Sebbage to action.

 

Forestry Tasmania: remittance of $5,500 for Ben Lomond Descent

7.         Correspondence Out:

Sport & Rec grant application for canoe polo upgrade

 

8.         Treasurer’s Report:

There was no treasurer’s report at this meeting.

 

9.         Bosun/Hire Report:

$30 hire fee for double sea kayak.

 

10.      Canoe Polo Report:

Repairs carried out and perpetual trophy organised.  Report provided on intrastate competition.

 

11.      Tamar Tigers:

Report tabled.

 

12.      General Business:

 

  1. Loan of canoe polo gear to Tasmanian Canoe Club: John will write a letter outlining conditions, which include gear is only to be used in a pool, the club will pay for or repair any damage/breakage, the club must confirm what equipment they want and a hire fee of $50 will be charged.
  2. Hire for polo gear next season: Claye spoke about charging to cover costs for next year.
  3. Canoe polo: bill received for extra bit. Pete to draft letter, Pete and Claye to meet with Launceston Aquatic Centre.
  4. Club funds: project of long term benefit to canoeists. Hadspen rapid.
  5. Beginners trip led by Simon Barnes on Sunday, depends on who wants to go but possibly Cressey-Woolmers-Longford.
  6. Hadspen racing: working bee to be organised, look at moving to Wednesday evenings.
  7. Sea kayaking trip planned for November long weekend.
  8. Derby River Derby is again looking for volunteers to be involved.

The Executive Meeting was closed at 9:40 pm.

 

14.      Time and Location of next Executive and General Meeting:

 

Next social meeting – first Tuesday in November at 8:00 pm.  Venue – Cock & Bull Pub

 

Next Executive Meeting – first Tuesday in December at 7:30 pm (Executive), 8:00 pm (General).  Venue – Cock & Bull Pub
