Paddle ‘n’ Ski Hadspen Race 1 November 2016

Geoff MacQueen crossing the finish line

This week at Hadspen there was a freezing wind, the water level was back down to the normal levels and it seemed like a hard night on the water. Three new racers tonight, welcome Tim Warren, Martina and Jhonno; and first race for the season for Phil Barratt, Tim Chilcott, Alex, Paul and Geoff; welcome back. With only two paddlers paddling off a handicap, set in arctic conditions a couple of weeks ago, the points on offer were always going to be good. Mark and Phil Nelson took advantage of there cold resistance and got the points race off to a good start. Mark knocked 50 seconds off his time and Phil 21 seconds.

The time trial paddlers from tonight were a bit of a mixed bag, a couple faster than they expected, a couple close to last years times and a few who have plenty of room to improve to meet last years times. The results are below.
