It looked like a fast track, it felt like a fast track and it was a fast track. With little wind, no rain (yes that’s right) and almost a foot of extra water taking the weed out of the equation, quick times were the order of the day. We had 8 paddlers give a season best effort and a finish line grouping that was unprecedented, with 11 paddlers finishing within 90 seconds including a burst of 6 in under 30 seconds to keep the timekeepers honest.
Mark Rathmell got the win, knocking almost a minute off his time. James Caspar came through with second holding his own when the fast finishing backmarkers arrived. Ross McDonald rounded out the top three after adding to his handicap. Season best times were also posted by Adam Rolls, Brent Machen, Paul Kelly, Peter Lee and Paul Walker. Great job all.
