Our sport is starting to open up after the strong restrictions put in place.
We need to do this is a way that keeps ourselves and others safe and out of trouble.
You are required to make yourself aware of what this means.
A short review is below of what we all need to do. It will change as local conditions change.

Tamar Canoe Club’s COVID-19 Safety Plan
There are probably going to be a few “grey” areas – choose safety first, use your common sense.
First of all – download the COVIDSafe app on your phone if at all possible.
Social Distancing –
- Do it at the venue, car park and on the river.
- Do it on transport getting there and back. Also on car shuttles – maybe use extra vehicles.
Hygiene –
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms – Stay Home! Don’t turn up
- If you become unwell – Let those around you know. Contact health authorities and get yourself tested.
- Wash Your Hands! Frequently and thoroughly before and after any group activity.
- Don’t share gear, unless absolutely necessary. If you need to, e.g. Canoe Polo, disinfect it before and after use.
- Cover you coughs and sneezes.
Communication –
- Check back on the club’s Facebook page for announcements of changes as they occur.
- Ask questions back to the club’s COVID-19 Safety officer or Paddle Tasmania.
