Paddle ‘n’ Ski Hadspen Race Series 9 March 2021

The final handicap race for the 2020-21 season was held on Tuesday night in fine conditions. Graeme managed a race win following his time trial with a 3 minute improvement in time. Geoff was next with a 20s personal best, breaking 33 minutes, Phil Wadley was third with a 15s improvement to his best time. Ken was next sneaking under the 35 minute barrier for the first time, followed by Phil Barratt with a 4 second personal best time. Donelda was next just 20s slower than her best. A tight group followed with Phil Nelson putting in the big ones to sneak past, Bill, Claye, April, James and Richard in the last gasp; 6 paddlers in a space of 8 seconds made for an impressive finish. Jo was a bit off her big improvement from last week to finsih off the race.

Guntime for next week will be at 6:40 pm, with a mass start on the 4km course. The shorter race allowing more time for the end of year BBQ, series winner presentation, raffle draw and catchup. Check the facebook event to register your interest by Sunday 14th.
