A great night for racing with barely a breath of wind and low current speed led to some very quick times. A mistake on my part led to Jo heading off quite early, she managed to get around the course in a personal best time 124 seconds better than previous to take the race win. Geoff was second with a great paddle 68 seconds faster than his previous best, Ken was third with a 37 second improvement. Chris (9s), Phil Nelson (2s), and Phil Wadley (1s) were in the minor places with minor improvements. Richard also managed a 17 second personal best with his traditional late start.
Thanks to Donelda for timing and taking some great photos of the race finish. Race times follow. You may notice a couple of paddlers are out of order on the gun time positioning, this is due to some minor confusion at the start of the race leading to a couple of paddlers heading off before their handicap time.

Guntime for next week will be at 6:30 pm, (for those new to handicap racing your start time is you handicap after 6:30 pm, ie 13:50 handicap starts at 6:43:50). If you miss your start time you can still race, have your time recorded and score points. New paddlers will be able to set their handicap time. If you are starting more than 20 minutes after your handicap you may be asked to race a shorter course to ensure on water safety.
