A great night for the final race of 2020 with some light winds and a pleasant temperature. A mass start race over the 4km course was raced with a few good battles occurring; Richard McMinn was first over the line with Phil Nelson a boat length behind followed by Geoff and Phil Barratt another boat length back. Phil Wadley had a good paddle and was 43 seconds off the race winner, Claye and Jon had a good battle with Claye just holding on by a boat length. Richard had a good paddle of a late start. A couple of paddlers took off early to have a paddle of the longer course. Thanks to April for timing the race, times are below.
The race was followed by a BBQ, with Bill on the tongs, plenty of chat and anecdotes of racing and even a boat sale. A good night to finish off the paddling for the year, we will be back for more racing on January 12th 2021.
