A great night for the final race of 2020 with some light winds and a pleasant temperature. A mass start race over the 4km course was raced with a few good battles occurring; Richard McMinn was first over the line with Phil Nelson a boat length behind followed by Geoff and Phil Barratt another boat length back. Phil Wadley had a good paddle and was 43 seconds off the race winner, Claye and Jon had a good battle with Claye just holding on by a boat length. Richard had a good paddle of a late start. A couple of paddlers took off early to have a paddle of the longer course. Thanks to April for timing the race, times are below.

The race was followed by a BBQ, with Bill on the tongs, plenty of chat and anecdotes of racing and even a boat sale. A good night to finish off the paddling for the year, we will be back for more racing on January 12th 2021.
Guntime for January 12th 2021 will be at 6:30 pm, (for those new to handicap racing your start time is you handicap after 6:30 pm, ie 13:50 handicap starts at 6:43:50) to be safe be ready to race at 6:40 pm. If you miss your start time you can still race, have your time recorded and score points. New paddlers will be able to set their handicap time. If you are starting more than 20 minutes after your handicap you may be asked to race a shorter course to ensure on water safety.
