Paddle ‘n’ Ski Hadspen Race Series 27 October 2020

We were back to handicap racing on Tuesday with a stiff breeze greating racers on the upriver leg, with the flow rate still a bit higher than normal is was hard up but fast back. Richard made great time coming in 2 minutes faster to take the race win. Phil Nelson was followed closely by Claye with both coming in around 80s faster; James was next over the line around 70s faster. Oscar held Jon off (around 60s faster) with Kobi in next (22s) and then Phil Wadley (19s) close behind. The remainder were a bit off there pace from last week. We also welcomed back Bill Williams, previous series winner, for his first race for a couple of years.

Guntime for next week will be at 6:30 pm, (for those new to handicap racing your start time is you handicap after 6:30 pm, ie 13:50 handicap starts at 6:43:50) to be safe be ready to race at 6:40 pm. If you miss your start time you can still race, have your time recorded and score points. New paddlers will be able to set their handicap time. If you are starting more than 20 minutes after your handicap you may be asked to race a shorter course to ensure on water safety.
