With the rain on the weekend the water level was up and flowing fast making it a real battle to get up the river and then a flat out sprint on the way back down. Of the long course paddlers Phil Barratt made best use of his course knowledge and came away with the win, followed by Phil Nelson, Chris, Geoff and James Caspar all were well behind there personal bests which was to be expected with the river flowing so strongly. In the 4km race Beth and Phil were working hard to get through the fast flowing water around the willows, Amanda worked slowly past them to the end of the willow section and was crossing the eddy line when she managed to end up in the drink. Phil and Beth gave an assist with Jo coming onto the scene a bit later helping out with the rescue and calling it a day on her race. Thanks to the rescuers.
