Paddle ‘n’ Ski Hadspen Race 9th February 2016

This weeks Hadspan race was welcomed after a long hot day, so welcome that one of us decided on a dip before the race started. We had a reasonably stiff breeze blowing up river and a pretty high water level with plenty of flow coming down the river. A hard slog up the river was rewarded with a powerful current giving a big push on the way back down, some paddlers took real advantage of the conditions. Amanda got the race win with a PB by almost a minute, Ken broke the 36 minute barrier with a 35ish second PB. Phil and Colin both got over the line for small PB’s.  Paul, Michael and Bill just missed out on there best. Claye and Richard had a great battle at the line, while Alex was feeling the effort all the way. Pete decided the water looked refreshing and had a swim during the race, it did greatly affect his time, surprising. We also welcomed two newcomers in Terry and Tony. This weeks times are below.
