Hadspen Race 10 February 2015

It was another fast night with most getting close to their season bests and some blowing them out of the water. Ryan Nelson returned to show us how the wing had repaired, we threw an extra two minutes on the handicap to give everyone else a chance but he still came home 49 seconds before second place. Amanda continued her season of improvement knocking another 55 seconds off; while Paul Kelly showed that his weekend training session was a morning well spent with another 48 second improvement. Michael returned after a short break, not from paddling apparently, to a 45 second gain; the ever improving Mark knocked off 42 seconds and Paul Walker set himself a new benchmark 38 seconds lower than his normal consistent mark.

Rounding out the race was a dead heat between Peter and Phil Nelson (looking like they were paying for a fast finish I heard), while Phil Barratt lost the tail of his tow towards the finish. I trundled around trying out a new old paddle (not recommended) and Jack feeling the heat took a quick dip on the turn.

Thanks to Larcs for timekeeping, results are below.

We will be breaking with tradition and holding the end of season BBQ next week before the end of the season and will continue paddling until hopefully March 17th, maybe later depending on the lighting situation.
