Executive Meeting Minutes

1.         Open Executive Meeting:

The meeting was opened at 7:40 pm.

 

2.         Attendance:

John McCausland (Commodore), Claye Mace, Peter Sebbage, Gavin Bye, Dave Chiam

 

3.         Apologies:

No apologies were received.

 

4.         Minutes of last meeting:

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed as being a true and accurate record of that meeting.

5.         Business arising from previous minutes:

  •  Canoe Polo boats: Grant has been received.
  •  Bosun/Hire: Three boats have been sold to the Sea Scouts. Movement of boats and disposal of trailer is ongoing.
  •  Hawkins Rivers: carried forward.

 

6.         Correspondence In:

7.         Correspondence Out:

Nil

 

8.         Treasurer’s Report:

The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

9.         Bosun/Hire Report:

Three Daggers and one Wild Cat have been sold for $350 each.  Each boat included a paddle and deck.

 

10.      Canoe Polo Report:

Committee for canoe polo consists of Claye Mace, Pete Sebbage, Adrian Cooper and Dave Chiam (until he departs on his trip).  Aim is to get on top of things and finalise outstanding issues, such as the pool contract.

 

Currently in week four of the ten week competition.  Eight teams have signed up.

 

11.      General Business

a) Canoe Tas AGM: John attended the meeting and reported on the meeting:

  • The club will buy ten Canoe Tas basic kayak skills videos for $100 and set up a beginners welcome kit with information sheets etc (Action: John McCausland)
  • Jason Dicker was given life membership of Canoe Tas
  • TCC will pay membership for our members who become Board members of Canoe Tas.

  • New affiliation fee from Canoe Tas is $30 for 12 months.

 

b) 2011/2012 Membership Fees: New membership fees were set for the next financial year as follows:

Seniors: annual membership at $50 ($30 affiliation + $20 membership)

Juniors (16 and under): annual membership at $30 ($30 affiliation + $0 membership)

Families (2 seniors and unlimited juniors who are part of a family i.e. married or de facto and offspring, adopted, step children etc): annual membership at $140 (4x$30 affiliation + $20 membership)

 

This would operate in the following fashion:

  • Annual membership to existing members at $50 per annum
  • New members joining in the period April to June purchase a 12 month membership, this covers them for a period of 15 months (through to the end of the financial year).

 c) John McCausland agreed to make a beginner’s trip list.

d) Gavin will complete membership renewal letters and e-mail out to members. Letter to include information on Hadspen races, canoe polo, beginner’s trips and Ben Lomond Descent.

 e) Ben Lomond Descent: Scheduled for 7th August, with a clean up day on the Saturday before. A corporate team challenge will be included this year.

 

 

12.      Close Club Executive Meeting:

The Executive Meeting was closed at 9:00 pm.

 

13.      Time and Location of next Executive and General Meeting:

 

Next social meeting – first Tuesday in June at 8:00 pm.  Venue – Cock & Bull Pub

 

Next Executive Meeting – first Tuesday in July at 7:30 pm (Executive), 8:00 pm (General).  Venue – Cock & Bull Pub
